The Main Eco Compact 24kW regular gas boiler has an efficiency rating of 89%, making it a B-Rated boiler.
This efficiency rating means that 11% of the gas you are using in your home is being wasted if you have this boiler installed. In financial terms, this means that for every £1 you are spending, 11p of this is being wasted, therefore, we recommend that you upgrade your central heating system to help you save money on your energy bills.
With that said, if you are looking to purchase a new or replacement Main Eco Compact 24kW regular boiler, then this model is most suitable for homes with around 15 radiators and moderate demand for instant hot water. Smaller homes with lesser demand for central heating and instant hot water would benefit more from the 15kW or 18kW. On the other hand, we recommend the 30kW model for larger homes.
It is important to remember, that when purchasing a regular boiler, you will need to have an additional hot water cylinder installed, as well as a cold-water feed and an expansion tank. For this reason, we don’t recommend regular boilers for homes with limited space.
On the other hand, if space is not an issue in your home and you have a high demand for instant hot water, then a regular boiler could be perfect for you. This is because regular boiler systems can store hot water ready for when you need it.
